Why Choose Ceramic Tiles?

Blog

For thousands of years, ceramic tile has been one of the most popular tiling choices in the world. It's an extremely long lasting yet easy to care for product that when well installed and maintained can even last the lifetime of a building. Ceramic tiles can be used in every room because they can be customised into different designs to suit your home space.

The following are a few reasons why you should pick ceramic tile.

Easily Customisable

As mentioned, ceramic tile is available in different designs, and better yet, you can find them in a range of different colors. The colors range from the popular whites, greys and beiges to the brightest colors of the rainbow. Due to limitless design patterns and a wide range of colors, shapes and textures, the installation of ceramic tiles can be made into one-of-a-kind designs. You can add metal, glass, and stone to your porcelain tile with even more possibilities.

Sanitary and Eco-Friendly

Ceramic tiles are moisture resistant which means that they are anti-microbial. Ceramic floorings ensure that the bacteria can't find a spot to thrive. This will reduce the possibility of developing allergies from mites and dust. Additionally, cleaning ceramic tile require no special products but just a cleaner of choice and water.

If you're environmentally conscious, you will be thrilled to learn that the flooring is made from compressed raw materials including sand, glass and clay. These will provide unmatched style with low environmental impact.

Durable

For a floor, most people nowadays consider the durability. Will the floor hold up against a high traffic workplace or a family life? Ceramic tile is made of one of the strongest materials available. As long as the installation is done correctly, the tile may offer many years of service. Most kitchens often use these tiles because dropped cutlery will not leave a mark.

Resistant to Many Elements

What makes ceramic tile so durable is because the floor can hold its own when it comes into contact with numerous elements. Being fireproof, the tiles won't burn or give off smoke and toxic fumes. In addition to that, the floor is frost resistant, thermal shock resistant and chemical resistant. Also, ceramic tile is slip resistant and resistant to abrasions, which lets your children run throughout the day without you having to worry about wear and tear on your floor.

Ceramic tile is also fade resistant because it's manufactured at very high temperatures, thereby meaning that it cannot be affected by UV rays. As such, it will look new for decades.

Choosing the Right Type of Flooring

Welcome to my blog, my name is Kate. My parents lived in a very old home which still had its original flooring. I loved the pattern of the Victorian bathroom floor tiles, the glow of the timber wood, and the smooth ceramic kitchen floor. I would spend many hours sitting on the floors, feeling the surface as I played with my toys. When I bought my own home, the first thing I installed was new flooring to re-create the wonder of my childhood. I have decided to start this blog to pass on my passion for flooring with the rest of the world.
